He graduated from the University of Timișoara with a degree in physics and from the Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest with a degree in radio journalism. He was arrested during the revolution of 1989 in Timișoara. He began his career in journalism in 1990 at the Romániai Magyar Szó journal. He also worked as a correspondent for Radio Free Europe, he was the editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper Erdélyi Napló, as well as the general editor of the Krónika daily newspaper.
He was awarded a prize for his activity as a journalist in the service of historical truth from The Memorial of the Revolution Timișoara (Memorialul Revoluției Timișoara) and a prize for reportage from the Hungarian Journalists Association from Romania.
He is the author of a volume of reports entitled When I was Little, I was Hungarian (Mikor kicsi voltam, magyar voltam), published in 2002.
